I spent all day yesterday playing with polymer clay. Since this was my first clay project that didn’t involve an Altoids tin or shrink plastic, I decided to start simple, testing out conditioning techniques and methods for mixing colors, adding paint, and shaping.
My first color mixing attempt was just begging to be made into faux turquoise beads, so I gave it a shot.
Here’s how they looked coming out of the oven. They still needed a little shaping and shining up, but they definitely had the beginnings of that contrast-heavy turquoise look.
Finally, here they are all sanded and buffed! They turned out pretty well, don’t you think?
haley, those beads look like blueberries!!!
