This afternoon, my pal Susan of West Coast Crafty and I headed uptown to the American Folk Art Museum to check out the wonderful alt_quilts exhibition. (We loved it—I’ll tell you more about what we saw in the coming week.) Of course, like any good museum visitors, we couldn’t resist popping into the gift shop on the way out. Given my well-documented hexie obsession, it will surprise exactly none of you to learn that, when I saw this gorgeous set of two Wolfum honeycomb trivets*, it was love at first sight. I brought them home, and we are very happy together.
* At least I *think* they’re trivets. Wolfum doesn’t seem to have trivets of any kind on their website, but they certainly aren’t coasters or trays. This honeycomb tray is the only thing in the pattern that I could find, and tracking that down required some very creative Googling. Given how elusive it is, I’m guessing that the honeycomb pattern is either very new or very old.
Update, 10/29: The lovely gal behind Wolfum sent me a tweet confirming that the honeycomb pattern is new, and that she’s updating the site as fast as she can! (Also: My wonderful new items are, in fact, trivets!)
