I love the idea of crafting-specific guilds, bees, and stitch ‘n bitch gatherings—clearly, therein I will find my people. So, it is with absolutely no embarrassment whatsoever that I will admit to the following: When my Modern Quilt Guild membership package showed up in my mailbox today, I squeaked out loud, then tore open the envelope right there in the entryway of my apartment. (I guess you could say that I was pretty excited.) My friends, the joy that I feel about having finally received my MQG membership pin is almost indecent. I’m totally allowed to walk around with it pinned to my hoodie, flashing it at crafty-looking folks like I’m in some awesome secret society, right?
How about you? Are you a member of any local/national guilds or groups? What’s your favorite thing about being part of those communities? And do they have an awesome pin?
If they do have an awesome pin, I fully expect you to leave a link to a photo in the comments. (Please?)
What, just one pin? :P One of the pins below I received from being a member (and president) of the Ventura Modern Quilt Guild. The other I got from my membership in the Los Angeles Modern Quilt Guild. Yes, I love the MQG enough to pay double dues every year to attend both guilds.

Just one…for now. I assume that, at some point when there’s room in my local NYC guild, I’ll be rockin’ a double national-and-local membership! :)
